A few words from AudioSmile owner, Simon
Ashton
"From a very young age I was passionate about
music, and as a child spent many hours trawling through my parents’
old record collection in the loft to find music that was completely
new to me; albums from the likes of Sad Café, 10CC, Supertramp
and of course Pink Floyd. As I grew older I became more discerning
of the sound quality and started to upgrade my system with every
penny I had. That same passion carried me on to study sound engineering
and recording technology, which sparked my interest in how audio
equipment is designed.
As I continued to study areas related to audio in
greater depth, I also began to experiment with different design
ideas. I soon found myself building and modifying all sorts of equipment
to obtain a quality of system I could not otherwise have afforded,
and also sometimes because what I wanted was simply not available
commercially.
Turning all this into a business was a natural progression,
and I consider myself fortunate to immerse myself in what I most
love as my everyday work. One of the benefits of not being a huge
corporation, for both me and my customers, is that it allows for
the personal touch. In terms of customer relations, I really hope
this means each person who deals with AudioSmile will feel the same
passion for the subject of audio as I do. In terms of the products
it means they can be personalised, as most are hand built on demand." |
